ABOUT TEAM NIKE
New York City reestablishes itself as the Mecca of basketball every summer. No other city has as many ballers per capita as the Big Apple and true to form; our best perform when the heat is on. From Brooklyn all the way uptown to the Boogie-Down Bronx, basketball is drenched in our city’s culture. To bring a new form of energy and excitement into the hops community, Nike has found a way to throw the streets a curveball by issuing something completely new. Never has this been done before, and never will it be more remembered. Nike has carefully assembled 10 of the best ballers to form Team NIKE and gave them this mission: Win out at Dyckman, win T.O.C., and create New York City hoops history.
The players are a group that’s known to leave their opponents frozen, devoured down-low, and terminated on site. Every Team NIKE player rings bells on every court they play on but now they’ll have a chance to embed their names into the city’s history. They weren’t assembled to become friends. They were built to destroy. They have high scorers, high-flyers, and flat out winners. Never has this been done before—and who knows if it will happen again. This unique situation leaves each of these 10 players with a very small window to reach success. Egos must be put aside; big shots must be made; and defense needs to be a priority —winning is all that matters.
This summer, you can find Team NIKE every Wednesday night in the heights and under the lights. Each week will feature a new team and set of players looking to become victorious over Team NIKE at Dyckman. The target is dead on Team NIKE’s chest and other ballers are ready to prove that our 10 are not the best. Our fans will be fans while our haters will hate. We are hustle. We are fear. We are New York. We build to destroy. We are Team NIKE. Run with us…or run from us.
